Nursery Nursery Ministry
CrossPoint Children’s Ministry provides nursery classes for children from birth through 36 months during the Sunday morning service and on Sunday and Wednesday nights.
Our nursery staff is made up of adult volunteers from our congregation. While we do expect the parents of our children to volunteer in the nursery we also have other adults who enjoy working with this age group. On Sunday morning we have teenage assistants who are there to play with and love our babies. All of the adult volunteers have an application and background check on file.
Preschool Preschool Ministry
At Crosspoint we value family worship and are pleased to have our preschool children in worship with us. For the first 6 months following a child’s 3rd birthday there may be times the child wants to go back to the nursery during part of the service and we understand that this is part of the learning process.
On Sunday nights our preschoolers age 3 through PreK participate in their own class called Bible Bugs. The class includes story time, crafts, snacks, worship with the elementary children and prayer and sharing time.
On Wednesday nights our preschoolers learn about missions and missionaries in the Mission Friends class They are introduced to the idea of other countries and other people groups through learning about the different customs, foods and languages of other cultures.
We plan at least two outside activities each year to assist our preschoolers in developing relationships and friendships with the other children in their age group and with the adult leaders.
Elementary Elementary Ministry
Our Elementary students are with their families during the Sunday morning worship service. We feel it is important for them to worship alongside their parents and siblings.
Sunday evenings our elementary students come together at 5:30 p.m. for worship, Bible memory, games and Bible lessons for about 1 hour. Following the large group time the students meet in their Life Groups. The Life Group time is made up of review, personal application of the lesson and a missions moment where they learn about a country or people group and what God is doing in another part of the world.
Our 2nd - 5th grade students meet on Wednesday evenings for Bible Skills, Drills and Thrills. This hour from 6:30 to 7:30 is filled learning Bible verses, the books of the Bible and Biblical character lessons that will assist them in their own personal walk with God. The kindergarten and 1st grade students have their own Mission Friends class where they learn how God is working in other places and other cultures.
We believe that developing close relationships with other children and CrossPoint leaders and teachers is an important part of our student’s Christian growth. To aid in the development of these relationships we plan at least 4 activities each year outside of the church time experience.
